03.12.2014The two new Scandlines vessels take shape again

The completion of the two new vessels, M/V Berlin and M/V Copenhagen, at the Danish shipyard FAYARD is progressing according to plan. It is expected that the two new passenger ferries can be put into operation on the Rostock-Gedser route in the second half of 2015.

11.07.2014Scandlines and FAYARD sign contract

Scandlines and FAYARD A/S in Munkebo in Denmark have signed a contract for the completion of the two vessels which Scandlines acquired in March 2014. Scandlines expects both ships to go into service on the route Rostock (Germany) – Gedser (Denmark) in 2015.

05.05.2013Scandlines receives prestigious Shippax Award

During the annual Shippax “Ferry Shipping Conference”, which was held on board Tallink Silja’s ferry Romantika from 9 to 11 April 2014, Scandlines received a Shippax Award 2014 for the conversion of the diesel-electric propulsion system to hybrid operation of M/V Prinsesse Benedikte.

Scandlines and Blohm + Voss in Hamburg, Germany, have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the completion of the two vessels which Scandlines acquired in March 2014. Scandlines expects both ships to go into service on the route Rostock (Germany) – Gedser (Denmark) before peak season 2015.

05.02.2013Scandlines invests two-digit million figure in sustainable technologies – Hybrid system launched on the Beeline

By 2015, Scandlines will invest more than 40 million EUR in sustainable technologies on the ferry routes Puttgarden–Rødby and Rostock–Gedser. In the first phase, the shipping company is investing some 14 million EUR in a hybrid propulsion system for the four ferries on the Fehmarn Belt route.
