The Sunflower Program
A small Sunflower that makes a big difference.

Our cooperation with the Sunflower Program
At Scandlines, we want to raise awareness of hidden disabilities – and help make the invisible visible. That’s why we actively support the Sunflower program, which aims to create more understanding and inclusion. Through this partnership, we hope to increase awareness of hidden disabilities and provide a clear framework for how we meet people with additional needs. Our goal is to make every journey with Scandlines as safe and comfortable as possible, and to ensure that all passengers are met with the care and understanding they need and deserve.
All employees across our organisation are trained to recognise the Sunflower symbol, understand what a hidden disability may involve, and know how to offer support when a passenger is wearing the Sunflower lanyard.
“As a service provider, Scandlines is committed to meeting our passengers and customers where they are. The Sunflower Programme is another step towards offering a safe and considerate travel experience, where everyone feels acknowledged and respected even when the need for support isn’t visible.” – Dennis Mundt Nedergaard, Head of Customer Success.
Find the sunflower on board our ferries
You can pick up a free Sunflower lanyard in our Travel Shops on board the ferries between Rødby–Puttgarden and Gedser–Rostock. When you wear the Sunflower lanyard, it tells us that you may need a little extra time or support during your journey. We’re here to help.
