Check in no later than 15 minutes before departure

You must be checked in at the harbour at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure.

Cyclists, pedestrians and buses must check in in Rostock no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure.

How to find your check-in lane

Your check-in lane at the harbour depends on your vehicle.  

  • The Blue lane is for cars less than 6 metres in length. 
  • The Yellow lane is for cars more than 6 metres in length, as well as trailers, caravans, motorcycles, etc. 
  • Pedestrians and cyclists must check in at the terminal building or in the Yellow lane. 

Follow signs at the harbour to find the correct lane.

Blue lane

Blue Lane in the Harbour
  • The Blue lane is for cars less than 6 metres in length.

  • Drive towards the blue sign with the white car.

    In the Blue lane, you can check in quickly and easily using a machine by following the instructions on the screen.  

    Your ticket and vouchers for pre-ordered food and shopping will be printed out automatically.

  • You must be checked in no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled departure – but it is always a good idea to get to the harbour in good time.

Yellow lane

  • You must check in via the Yellow lane if you arrive at the harbour:

    • in a car that is more than 6 metres in length
    • in a car that is less than 6 metres in length but you are paying in cash
    • with a trailer
    • with a caravan
    • in a camper van
    • on a motorcycle
  • Drive towards the yellow sign with the black icons.

    A member of staff will be available to check you in via the Yellow lane. 

    You will also have your ticket and vouchers for pre-ordered food and shopping printed out here. 

  • You must be checked in no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled departure – but it is always a good idea to get to the harbour in good time.

Check-in for pedestrians

  • In Rødby, Puttgarden and Gedser:

    • Check-in at the harbour at least 15 minutes before departure in the terminal building by scanning your ticket at the entrance to the footbridge.
    • To board the ferry, take the stairs to the footbridge and board directly from there.

    In Rostock:

    • Check in at least 30 minutes before departure at the Fährcenter building. 
    • Take the bus from the bus stop in front of the Fährcenter building to the footbridge where you board the ferry. A guard will be present to check tickets at the footbridge. 
  • In Rødby, Puttgarden and Gedser:

    • Check-in at the harbour no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled departure.

    In Rostock:

    • Check-in at the harbour no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure.

    But it is always a good idea to get to the harbour in good time. 

Check in on a bicycle

 

  • In Rødby and Puttgarden 

    • Check-in at the harbour at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure via the Yellow lane, where a member of staff will be waiting.
    • Board the ferry using the same route as cars by following the instructions given by a member of staff.

    In Gedser

    • Check-in at the terminal building at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure by scanning your ticket in front of the entrance to the boarding area.
    • Then follow the blue line from the terminal building to the cycle area to board the ferry.

    In Rostock

    • Check-in at the harbour at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure via the Yellow lane, where a member of staff will be waiting.
    • Board the ferry using the same route as cars by following the instructions given by a member of staff.
  • In Rødby, Puttgarden and Gedser:

    • Check-in at the harbour no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled departure.

    In Rostock
